In this episode E2, I take a look at project inception from a very high level of flight, the so-called golden eagle level. In my career, especially as contractor, the project inception has already started long ago on the day I join the project. A contractor job is to deliver the functionality, “hit the ground running”, she/he rarely sits on the project initiation team.

Where does it all go wrong? As DeMarco once said, “every problem is likely to be people problem first all”. In 2025, we see this essential wisdom about software practice demonstrated consistently. This is a very sad state of affair. Well good luck to BLAME CULTURE.

If you are the very start of PROJECT INCEPTION, let me pose you a question, how do know if the software culture will work in one week time? How much lip service would give it in one month time? How about 6 months time or then 1 year? One day you wake up to email from your principal solution architect, which says to your, “I am resigning”.

The technology stack is the easiest thing to decide on in your next milestone baked project.
