{"id":932,"date":"2012-11-20T10:45:09","date_gmt":"2012-11-20T09:45:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.xenonique.co.uk\/blog\/?p=932"},"modified":"2012-11-20T10:45:09","modified_gmt":"2012-11-20T09:45:09","slug":"nighthacking-tour-with-stephen-chin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.xenonique.co.uk\/blog\/2012\/11\/20\/nighthacking-tour-with-stephen-chin\/","title":{"rendered":"NightHacking Tour with Stephen Chin"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">On Monday 19th November 2012, in the evening, I interviewed for the final episode of the <\/span><a style=\"font-size: 13px;\" title=\"Nighthacking Tour Europe 2012\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nighthacking.com\/\"><strong>Nighthacking<\/strong><\/a><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\"> tour by\u00a0<\/span><strong style=\"font-size: 13px;\">Stephen Chin<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">, who is an Oracle Evangelist for Java, Chairperson of the JavaOne Program committee, and also a Java Champion a.k.a <\/span><a style=\"font-size: 13px;\" title=\"Stephen Chin\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/steveonjava\/\"><strong>@steveonjava<\/strong><\/a><span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>We talked about <a title=\"ScalaFX Project\" href=\"https:\/\/code.google.com\/p\/scalafx\/\"><strong>ScalaFX<\/strong><\/a> the open source Domain Specific Language and Scala library framework for JavaFX 2.x. I showed off my version of the JavaOne 2011 demo in Scala. It is called <a title=\"VideoCubeDemo.scala (source code)\" href=\"https:\/\/code.google.com\/p\/scalafx\/source\/browse\/demo\/scalafx\/graphics3d\/VideoCubeDemo.scala\"><strong>VideoCubeDemo.scala<\/strong><\/a>. We actually started to fix a bug in the demo. We checked into version control a quick fix that helped and pushed that to Mercurial.<\/p>\n<p>I also talked about my upcoming reference book for <strong>JavaEE 7<\/strong>, which will be published by <a title=\"Packt Publishing\" href=\"https:\/\/www.packtpub.com\/\"><strong>Packt<\/strong><\/a>. I demonstrated some of the example Context Dependency &amp; Injection code that will feature in the book. I showed off <strong>JBoss Weld<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>DeltaSpike<\/strong> and <strong>Arquillian<\/strong> framework.
