There are actually over 100 patterns in Jenifer Tidwell&#8217;s 2010 second edition book.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, in the interest of saving time, I skipped over the <em>ModalPanel<\/em> (otherwise known as <em>Light Box<\/em>) design pattern. I have added it back to the slide deck and you can run it yourself from the code bundle.<\/p>\n<p>The code compiles against Java SE 7 update 6, which bundles the JavaFX library jar.<\/p>\n<p>For Java SE 6 update 29 and better, you need to, first, define the environment variable JAVAFX_HOME and point it to the Oracle JavaFX 2.2 distribution.
